Taverniti So Jeans
I love love love Taverniti Jeans- my friend Carlo Alfonso- (Stylist) put me on to them. Stylexchange was the first store to carry them in Canada two years ago. I walked in and Carlo told me "D- you need these the fit is amazing and... Beyonce wears them" lmao - I was like cool as I know that if Carlo says the fit is right- then its right. He saves me a lot of time trying on many pairs. These jeans not only fit right- but the denim feels amazing on. The pocket detail is crazy too. Thank you to my homegirl who reps Taverniti- always looking out.

Yoga at 6:30 am
SO...I made a promise to myself earlier this week that I would try to make more time for myself. There is a Yoga class Tuesday AM at my gym at 6:30 am. So last night I set my alarm for 5am and decided that I would attend. I already knew that waking up would be a struggle, I never wake up that early-EVER !!! So I missed the alarm- but I fought my thoughts of going back to bed when I saw it was 5:45 am. I fought my thoughts- and got out of bed and decided that I wouldn't miss that Yoga class for anything in the world. Long behold- I MADE IT ON TIME !!!! Although I was half asleep for the first 20 minutes of the class (mind you we were only 3 people in the class)- it was hot yoga too- so the heat was putting me right back to sleep mode. For some reason I couldn't get my mind to stay clear- thoughts kept running through my head- I couldn't even hear the teacher or the music- I was just going through the motions of the moves. (It was still dark outside and the lights were off in the studio) LMAO- then after 20 minutes I was fully awake- and started to feel my body reap the rewards of the relaxation. WOOOOSAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great Yoga work out ! Next thing I knew it was 7:30 am- the class is done and I feel great, thinking to myself- Didn't I lock my things in the locker? Where is the key? OMG I locked the key in the locker (cause I was half asleep) So I run to the front desk ask the poor girl if she can break my lock and she does. Couldn't stop laughing though- that was so funny.

Stecie I LOVE YOU !!!!
My cousin Stecie is doing it- I had to give a shout out to her today. Her and I are so close she may as well have been my sister. She passed her bar exam in the summer time and is now a lawyer.I am going home to Montreal for the holidays and she will be officially sworn into her new career. So excited for you - she is a real go getter. By far the most stylish and "cool" lawyer I know. Go head girl !!!! Can't wait to see you for the holidays.

Love me some MACKAGE !!!!
I love Mackage jackets- they are the dopest winter jackets ever. I love their style, their fit. They are a bit pricier than your average but definitely worth the price if you want attention to detail and structure. I love the lovely people at Mackage- they are great to work with. I will soon be in there to treat myself to my Christmas present to MOI !!!! Mackage all day !!!! Montreal designers at their best :-)

I don't know how it happened- but it seems that John Forte is coming home- not sure if you remember but the cutie John Forte was arrested in 2000 for trafficking two briefcases filled with $1.4 million of liquid cocaine. DAMN JOHN !!!!
He was supposed to do 14 years but he will be home December 22nd. I always thought he was a cutie. It seems that someone has asked his pardon from BUSH- I wonder if it was Carly Simons, (or someone really random like that) I remember that she was an advocate of his cause.

Kanye - I like 808 & Heartbreak and I don't think it SUCKS !!!
So the album is out today- a lot of people are just dogging this album , left right and centre. You know what I LOVE IT !!!! I get where you are coming from Kanye- I know its a phase - you just had to get stuff off your chest right. Yeah some lyrics are wierd- yeah you are coming from a different place then you brought us before but... what can you do, that's life isn't it. It's a rollercoaster, just happens that right now its not a fun ride and you want off. I get it !!!!
I mean what else have we come to expect other than Kanye sharing his real life experiences with us.
CAN HE LIVE ? DANG !!!! He's only human right?!!! I feel you Kanye- maybe cause my heart is hurting a bit too :-(

Real Talks- Real In
It's been about 4 months since I have gone to church. I used to go steady every Sunday, same time same place. Then I stopped- and every Sunday I would wake up and think to myself that I should go. Before I knew it- another Sunday had passed until I was sitting at three months later.
One thing I do remember is how much better- attending church regularly had made me- fostering my faith had truly improved my person. So... late last night- I had a talk with God as I often do but this time I told him everything. Long behold I found myself heading to 12pm service today. Scared and nervous- I sat through the service and already felt a sense of encouragement come over me.
I was in need of faith- I needed to believe again. I am hoping and praying that this will be the new beginning - back to the path I should have stayed on.

FINALLY-The Coldest Winter Ever- follow up book
I love reading books- all kinds of books. When I was in college my BFF recommended I read this book - "The Coldest Winter Ever" I took her advice and bought it the same day. Two days later- I was done reading it. That's how good the book was. While doing some reading on blogs today, I found out that Sista Souljah has a follow up to this book out now- Titled Midnight- A Gangster Love Story. This book is however not a continuation of "The Coldest Winter Ever" even though Midnight was a character in the story- this book follows his life before the he met the Santiagos.
I will definitely be checking it out - should be a good read. Sista Souljah is a great writer- I will keep you guys posted.

As everyone knows- GAVIN is the man... & my hero. Such a source of inspiration ! If you don't know Gavin check out REMIX. A few weeks back my boy Jesse at Marc Ecko Watches was speaking to me about an idea he had- first name that came to my mind was "YO GAVIN IS THE GUY YOU NEED" Before I knew it they met and kicked it off- and the project came to fruition.
I can't wait for this shoot- it's going to be great- I love watching great things happen - this will be great as well for the nationwide exposure The Remix Project will receive from this. They are doing huge things- and now everyone will be able to see for themselves.

People always got something to say...
Some people always got something to say about ANYTHING !!!! That is a fact- it's almost as though their roles is to be the peanut gallery for everyone else's life. DAMN LIVE YOUR LIFE !!! LMAO - I am just saying though.... You know those people steady hating and watchin what everyone else is doing. I can't be bothered with trying to let you get to me. SO KEEP ON KEEPIN' ON !!! I'mma be over there- LIVING MY LIFE. Today is one of those days- where randomness is normal. I got an email today from someone who I have no ill feelings towards and he ended his email with "And if you plan on continuing on in Entertainment, it'll only be a matter of time before our paths cross again (the same people you meet on the way up are the same ones on the way down). " Like WHO SAYS THAT? Is he trying to say that we are on our way down? I don't know. Once again- I don't have time to try to figure it out, can't say it didn't boggle me. I still got love for you lol Anywho- I am gonna get back to work- got a meeting later- super excited. I will be helping style CREATURE from MTL for the cover of their European CD release. I will keep you posted !!!!

I believe in change
Not sure why but I woke up at 6am this morning.As many of you know, I believe in change, I believe in Barack Obama.Today marks a historical day that I didn't think I would see happen, a black man representing equal change is hours away from winning.
What I think is even more inspiring is, although I am not american I feel an incredible sense of empowerment. I more than ever see that nothing is impossible and if you can dream it you can do it.
Just as I never thought this day would come it is here. For Barack himself we can only imagine how overwhelming it must be to be at the verge of actualizing what you have been told was impossible. Clearly there are more imposing factors but the realization of his dreams, despite the many obstacles that were placed in his way, that is a honorable lesson that anyone can take away.
I guess I woke up early because I feel inspired and I want to reflect on how I can "make change" in my own respect, despite my obstacles and nay sayers.I think its important to not only look at Barack and the great things he has accomplished but also how his dedication and perseverance have made progress for us and can compel us to "make change" in our respective lives.That is the type of political impact I want.
Just my thoughts, I am gonna get my day started early.Think and create change through my day.

What's up with that?
What's up with guys not respecting a woman's time. I'm saying, when you make plans- stick to your engagements. I am understanding that sometimes, shit just happens. I mean really though this has to be the (.... I dont even know an exact number but I know its been more than 3 times)
that you have done this. Making plans then to follow up with a phone call- oh so predictable "What are you saying tomorrow?" - to which I can only reply "I am not sure yet" - as I think of how many times you have done this before. To which you follow up with your ever so famous "Yo, call me tomorrow if you wanna see me alright" - when all I can think is "RIGHT... Matter of fact why don't YOU get back to me when you have a sense of respecting someone's time"
I don't think I am asking for much- just respect my time and don't be oblivious and think that cancelling plans with someone repeatedly will just roll off smoothely.
I wasn't asking you to "Put a ring on it" nor was I asking you to put a name on it. Why is it that even when we don't expect anything from a man- he still can't just BE. Boggles me !!!!!
